IDAHO NAMPA MISSION

12 DEC-18 DEC

Hi Everyone;

This will the be the first of hopefully 52 weeks of mission entries.  We started our new mission on the 12th of December.  The Mission Department decided since we have been on a number of mission , we really didn't need to come to the MTC.  I think they wanted to save on all the food we would eat, and housing of course.  So we reported directly to the Mission, located in Nampa.

Working the office and those we will be replacing are; E/S Bayley, and the other couple E/S Anderson.  Sharon's job is pretty much the same as when she worked in the Boise Mission office.  In fact some of the forms used are ones she created 4 years ago.  I on the other hand, will now be the finance and housing coordinator.  this is new for me and Elder Bayley has his job cut out, to train me and make me proficient.

We have a number of other couple helping in the Mission.  Elder and Sister Moomey; he will help me with supplies, and housing issues and Sister Moomey is the Mission nurse.  They have already shown us that they are worth their weight in gold.  It is going to be a great year working with all these couples.  We had the opportunity to go to the Temple in Boise on Thursday with the half way missionaries.  We had Sisters; Nichols, Helm and Mackenzie, and Elders McKenzie, Silva, Au Sue, and Anderson. There were 3 other Elders and I will add their names later.  It is overwhelming all the new names we have to learn!  Following the Temple session we adjourned to President & Sister Sorenson's home in Nampa.  they live quite a ways out from the office but have a beautiful home.  We were treated to a wonderful dinner put on by Sister Sorenson and Tammy (the mission home help).  Then a testimony meeting.

This past week we have endured a real cold spell, temperatures have dropped down into the teens and we received about 3-4 inches of snow, on and off during the week.  The mission was in lock down on Friday due to snow and extremely cold conditions.  Friday we met E/S Schlaegel, who were in the MTC with us in 2004.  They are serving as CSM in the employment center next to our office. It was fun catching up on their adventures.

Merry Christmas to all, and see you next week

E/S Waller, Mom & Dad, Bama & Bampa, Chuck & Sharon

Sisters L>R; Helm, Hoyt, Weir, Anderson, Hirales, Gilman, Olson, MacKenzie, Layton
